This needs to be advertised on the forums here or on the home page. Most people don't know what IV's expenses are.
A generic breakdown of costs, without going into specifics, would help members understand the expenses and provide some transparency.
It may even motivate new members to contribute more :)

I will participate in this wholeheartedly. One suggestion to the admin: perhaps we can post this in other websites also like ? I know a lot of people use that site for posting problems etc and whoever is not in IV might also get to know about it.

Hello guys
Today I had an infopass appointment but it was not at all helpful (The chinese guy whom I talked had no idea at all).. could any body please tell me how to open SR (Any help is greatly appreciated guys)

good to see approvals coming in today.
I got the CPO email today for both my wife and I.
Here is my info:
PD - Oct, 2005
NSC
Sent email to followup address on 8/6 (no response yet), sent again to scopsscata address on 8/13
Asked my congressman to inquire on 8/12
Opened SR on 8/13
Got CPO email on 8/16 (Happy Independence Day!!! Well I am sure they wanted to present this gift on 8/15, but what could they do, it was a Sunday!)
Hope and pray that the rest of the people waiting get their approvals soon!

At last, after 10.5 years, 4 employers, 2 Labor filings, 1 Perm and 2 -I 140 (One from my employer and one from my spouse employer),1 - I485 filing, 2 SR, 1 senator request, 1 infopass - Got the mail - CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED for self, spouse and son.
What to do now? I dont know, for the last many years, used to think everyday about this 'CARD' and now nothing else to think about. May be, I should start thinnking about ????
But for now, Just going to relax and savor the moment.
Thanks for all the Guys, Gurus, Seniors, Juniors and all who contributed to the various discussions. I am pretty sure that I cannot stop logging to this website even I got my 'Card'. I will try to help you guys in some way or the other.

It will not work in case of power failure unless you have UPS back up for your modem. You will need standard landline to work with Brinks. I would advise to get cellular backup and make that number is first number to call in case of a break in. Burglars generally cut phone line when they become aware of security system. There have been some complaints where security companies just called the landline and since you didn't answer they left a voicemail. Logically they are suppose to all cops.
I have a cell backup and Brinks has called my cell when no one answered home phone. So if there is a power failure, the system may not send and alarm to Brinks when a break in occurs not sure? Does it uses a phone line to send the alarm to Brinks etc?
How is the call quality when you are using internet heavily for downloading?

My priority date is current now and my company has already filed for my I-140. I have have two questions:
1) My wife converted from H4 to H1b last year end and she has not gone out of the country to get any H1b stamp. Will this complicate things? Does she need to go out to get a valid H1b stamp? In case of any trouble, will it be easy for us it she converts back to H4 again?
2) I saw that I485 processing times are taking about 6 months at the CA service center. Hence, under the current conditions, what is a better choice go: for Consular processing or Adjustment of Status? Thanks. :confused:

My reasoning for less than 3k visas for EB3 I
Assume EB3 I has 2800 available per year
2800/12 = 233.33 per month.
The spread sheet shows that there are 135 pending with PD of March 01 or less. Which is less than 233 the PD did not cross April because there are 452 applications in april. A PD of April makes sense. Using calculation the PD will be July 2001 in Dec.
if you assume 8080 visas per year then there will be 673 visas availble per month and the PD should have crossed to May 2001 because the total pending 485s on May 1st are 587. If we go with your assumption then the PD in December will be at Jan 2002...I
You brought a good point to churn on our heads but remember DOS decides the dates not the USCIS and DOS and USCIS do not have any interlinking to set Dates in a bulletin.
How DOS decides the dates in each bulletin is also a mysterious and unknown area.

va_dude, your concerns are understandable. This issue is real and some IV members got affected by this and came forward to provide some more info. pd_recapturing collected that info. A bunch of volunteers are working in the background to move this forward with concrete proof. In the meantime its important to keep sending letters so they know the concern its raising.

I had sent the four letters to different service centers. Got a reply letter back from TSC.
The letter says "Thanks you for your recent inquiry to the Texas Service Center (TSC) via letter for information regarding your case. ....." Seems like a standard letter template.
They returned my letter and even the envelope too. :)
I am assuming they have a clerk who has been instructed to do this.
Lets not worry about it, lets keep sending the letters

My wife is in the same boat. Interviewed Jan 4th. in Mumbai and passport returned immediately - asked to resubmit passport after she received an approval email or phone call. I started a new thread here: <http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16508&highlight=mumbai>
